The GIVET-SMART project, “Green Industry 4.0: Vocational Education and Training for Sustainable Manufacturing with IoT,” is an ambitious initiative designed to integrate the forefront of Greencomp Industry 4.0 and IoT technologies into vocational education and training (VET) programs. Launched on December 1, 2023, and set to run for 24 months until November 30, 2025, with a budget of €250,000, this project aims to equip students with the digital skills and knowledge necessary for success in the future workforce. It endeavors to support the development of a more agile, adaptable workforce and foster a responsible and sustainable manufacturing industry. Additionally, the project focuses on promoting entrepreneurship education and encouraging cross-cultural exchange and learning.

The GIVET-SMART project will implement a series of Learning, Teaching, Training Activities (LTTA) including mini-projects on sustainable manufacturing with IoT, staff training on competences and skills related to Greencomp Industry 4.0 and IoT, alongside dissemination activities to share project results with a broader audience. These efforts will be complemented by regular transnational project meetings and online communication to ensure effective coordination and collaboration between partner organizations.

The expected outcomes of the project include the development of new skills and knowledge related to sustainable manufacturing, Industry 4.0, and IoT among VET students and staff. It aims to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in the manufacturing sector and contribute to a more responsible and sustainable European economy. The initiative also expects to create mini-projects and disseminate project results to a wider audience, thereby making a significant contribution to the development of a more agile, sustainable, and innovative European economy.
